Salt and Pepper Tofu

Salt and Pepper Tofu This is quick, easy and yummy.  You can use it in so many ways – as the basis of a roast – with Asian wok greens – with fresh tomato sauce.

Ingredients
  • 300 g firm Tofu - pressed
  • 3 tbsp besan (chickpea) Flour (OR plain Flour if prefered)
  • 2 tsp ground Black Pepper
  • 2 tsp table Salt
  • 2 tbsp low-flavour Oil (Such as peanut or Canolla)
Instructions
  1. Cut the tofu into 4 thin slices and then diagonally to give 8 triangles.
  2. Mix the other ingredients and spread on a plate.
  3. Dredge the tofu pieces in the salt and pepper mixture.
  4. Fry the tofu, in the oil, over a medium-high heat until golden brown.
